Volunteering

Our Community is fortunate to offer as many sport programs for our youths as it does and, each one at incredibly affordable prices. None of it would be possible without the time and devotion generously given by parent volunteers.

We will continue with our Annual Cornhole Tournament, which is scheduled to take place February 20, 2027. Shifts are TBD.

We will also require volunteers for our recital in March. Signup sheets will be sent out at the beginning of September to select your shift(s). The number of shifts required will be dependent on the number of families that register.

Arriving late for your volunteer shift will count as a missed shift. Please plan ahead to make sure you are available for your shift at the start time of your shift.

If you attend the AGM, you will receive priority selection for all volunteer shifts.

**A $500.00 bond cheque (1 per family) is required for parent volunteering.

Bond Cheques

We require 3 bond cheques to ensure participation in various events.

1) $500.00 (1 per family) dated April 1st - For volunteer shifts at Cornhole tournament and/or Recital as needed

2) $250.00 (1 per dancer) dated April 1st - Festival and recital dancer attendance

3) $150.00 (1 per dancer) dated May 1st - Arriving on time for Picture Day, Recital, and Festival Call Times

Picture Day

Sunday March 7, 2027 **subject to change**

A $50.00 charge will be given to parents that do not show up to group pictures without advising the board ahead of time with a reasonable explanation. The money collected will be placed in a separate scholarship fund that could be offered to a dancer for future festivals or end of year achievement awards.

Cleaning

For the 2026-2027 dance season, the board has hired a cleaner to ensure our studio is adequately kept clean.

The cleaner will have a broader list of things to help our studio stay sanitary this season.

There is a $40.00 fee per child or maximum of $80.00 fee per family to help pay for this service.

Recital **subject to change**

The recital is scheduled for Saturday March 13, 2027, with rehearsal on Friday March 12, 2027. This will give all of our dancers an opportunity to perform on stage before heading to festivals.

Withdrawals

Dancers will be given two trial classes. A dancer who wishes to withdraw from class before the third class will be fully reimbursed.

If the dancer attends the third class, the full registration fee will be retained by SRDS.

Missed Classes

Regular attendance is expected from all dancers. If a dancer is unable to attend a class, the instructor must be informed in advance. This policy ensures that dancers remain up to date with choreography.

Attendance will be recorded by the instructor for each class. If three classes are missed in a class (including tech classes), the dancer may be removed from that class for the remainder of the season, and no refund will be issued.

Dancers who arrive more than 10 minutes late may not be permitted to join the class, as late arrivals can disrupt the session. This decision will be made at the instructor's discretion.

Canceled Classes

Classes are canceled when either Routhier/Vanier or Heritage buses are canceled, or if we determine that weather conditions pose a safety risk.

Makeup classes will not be offered for sessions canceled due to inclement weather. No refunds will be provided for weather-related cancellations.

Fees

All fees must be paid in full by the week of September 22nd. If you are on a payment plan, fees must be paid on time as per your plan, or your dancer cannot attend class. If fees are outstanding from a previous year, they must be paid in full before registering for the current dance season.

Payment Plans

Payment plans can be arranged through our Treasurer, Shantel Caron, with approval from the board. We reserve the right to decline payment plans based on past payment history. Once agreed upon, a contract will be signed outlining all due dates and conditions.

Festivals

We will not know festival schedules until up to 2 weeks before the festival.

Many of the festivals we attend have a showcase on the final day of the festival. We may be invited to participate in this, but may not know until the evening before, or the day of. Please plan accordingly to attend a showcase if we are invited.

Festivals are mandatory to attend. A $250.00 (1 per dancer) bond cheque is required to ensure participation in festivals and recitals.

Calendar

We strive to provide the most complete calendar possible when registration packages are distributed; however, please note that dates and events are subject to change as the year progresses.
