What We Offer

Genres

Ballet

Ballet originated in the noble courts of Renaissance Italy and France. Ballet is a dramatic art, poetry in motion, which tells a story and expresses genuine emotion. The full articulation of turnout and the 5 positions form the classical technique. Ballet Dancers practice elegance, etiquette, and gain an understanding of their body's alignment.

Ballet Technique

Class is comprised of warmup, barre, centre work, and across the floor. Dancers can expect to learn allegro (quick movements and jumps) and adage (dramatic extensions and expressive choreography). Accompanied by classical music, Ballet develops the dancer's understanding of music.

Pointe

The culmination of Ballet technique is pointe work, which achieves an ethereal weightlessness to the dancer's expression. Designed for students with multiple years of Ballet training. Pre-Pointe is a mandatory pre-requisite, dancers will be assessed for ankle strength, stability, and proper alignment; all of which are crucial for success en pointe.

Jazz

Evolved from Jazz music and Tap dance, Jazz dance blends precision and fun. The movements are strong, clear, and stylistic, informed by dynamic Ballet technique. Jazz dance encompasses Jumps, Turns, Kicks, Flexibility, Steps, Style, and Performance.

Jazz Technique

Following the progressive Adapt Syllabus, Dancers will perfect the techniques necessary to let loose and dance.  Classes are comprised of warmup, barre, centre work, across the floor, and combinations. Jazz dance will develop your student's knowledge of music and will help them discover their unique style.

AcroDance

AcroDance is the marriage of acrobatics with the expressive quality of dance. Following the Acrobatic Arts progressive syllabus, dancers expand on the foundational movements of acro: bridges, handstands, and cartwheels. The purpose of AcroDance is the seamless integration of skills. Strength is crucial. Your dancer will develop balance and control in any position imaginable: upside down and flying through the air. Think of tricks as a staircase: there is no skipping steps. Dancers will prove mastery of skills before advancing levels to ensure safety. When the strength is there, the tricks come easily!

Lyrical

Lyrical is for dancers with an emotional side. Many dancers are drawn to Lyrical because they feel strongly in a way that cannot be expressed through words. Informed by the technique of Jazz and Ballet, Lyrical attaches movement to the lyrics of music in order to create a heart to heart with the audience.

Contemporary

Contemporary is movement that is "new." Contemporary strives to break the mold of classical discipline to invoke various shapes and stories. Contemporary technique is informed primarily by Modern technique, characterized by elements such as swings, curves, improvisation, geometry, and eclectic themes. While more relaxed and unrestrained than Ballet, Contemporary requires considerable core work and strength. Contemporary dance can pull inspiration from all styles: Acro, Jazz, Hip Hop, Latin, the list goes on.

Musical Theatre

Ideal for actors, singers, big personalities, and dancers with a flair for theatre! Musical Theatre takes Broadway Jazz technique to the stage for fun-filled, character driven routines. Performers will tell stories through words, physical comedy, song, and dance.
